When I went to my polling place at the fire station one road over, there were many people there. The woman who had me sign in a little after 9 a.m. said there had already been a large amount of voters. I remember the feeling of pride I had the first time I voted back in the 1960's. Over the years, this feeling had disappeared, even though I continued to always vote during Presidential elections. That feeling came back for me this morning as I walked from my car to the door of the fire station. There was pride at being an American, pride at having the right and privilege of voting in this important election, and pride that the TV news are saying the turnout of voters might reach record numbers.

I certainly voted, have every time since I was able. Although my first time as still a teen, I didn't really know what I was doing. Sometimes I think they should move the voting age up until people get a little more knowledge under the belts and truly understand the "issues". lol.
